Betsy's foundation is in the craft. During more than 30 years in publishing, she has worked as a writer, publisher, and editorial manager, providing editorial services for independent authors and directing editorial production for more than 75 illustrated history books — hiring and coordinating authors, editors, and photo editors while writing and editing everything from chapter content to cover and website copy. Before that, five years as a newspaper copyeditor and reporter, working deadlines and teaching grammar workshops to newsroom staff.
Mark handles production. After 20 years in technology as a data storage consultant, he now lays out books in InDesign, designs covers in Photoshop, and builds and maintains the WordPress sites for WordMetro and WordMetroPress. Before settling in Vila do Conde, Portugal, he and Betsy spent seven years as nomadic expats across three continents. His essays have appeared in The Humanist and HuffPost, and he writes at Material Witness and markblondin.com.
