Letter to Congress

Here is a sample letter that was included with some Migraine Expressions books sent to Congress members. If you wish to contact your Congress member via e-mail or letter, you can link to their sites via the Senate and House of Representatives lists and copy and paste appropriate parts of this letter:

Dear Senator ** or Representaive **,

More people suffer from Migraine disease than from Asthma, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, or Diabetes; yet Migraine is the least understood, funded, or researched. One of every nine people in the U.S. may be in the throes of a migraine attack this minute. The extent to which Migraine and its victims have been neglected is untenable and inexcusable.

For the estimated 36 million of us who are often debilitated or disabled by Migraine’s symptoms, it is critical that more funding is immediately targeted for Migraine and other headache disorder research. Untold numbers have faced discrimination and suffered needlessly for far too long – some for more than 50 years!

Please take action on our behalf whenever you have the opportunity during the next few months as Migraine advocates ask you to support Congressional hearings and additional funding for Migraine research.

And when you hear or talk about Migraine from this point forward, we hope you will remember theĀ millions of lives affected by Migraine disease.

Thank you!
